​Robert's Grandfather was Bill Smit who ran different games/concessions at Playland.

Bill Smit can be seen in a few Playland videos.... He ran the Carousel from 1924 - 1972!

Peter Wellen was a British Photographer. he made two trips to San Francisco and both times photographed many rides at Playland in 1965 and 1968. Peter passed on years ago, but his photos were donated to the University of Sheffield in England.

Warren is indirectly related to the Whitney's. His father worked for Cragmont Soda which supplied Playland and there was a related marriage..... or something like that....   ;-)

 

Warren and marvin go back to the playland.yahoo group. Warren is another Disneyaholic (like me), Playland historian and Carousel Enthusiasist.
