Bull Pupp
Opening in 1923 as Midway Concession, Bull Pupp soon found residence in the business front of Hawai'Land (Ocean Beach Pavilion Building). When Hawai'Land went under, construction was underway for a string of Great Highway frontage concession buildings (North of Ocean Beach Pavilion Building). Bull Pupp found itself a concession space just North of Topsy's Roost. In the 50's, they took over the Skateland Fountain on the Corner of Balboa and Great Highway.
People ask, "What was the difference between Hot House and Bull Pupp?" Well... 'Preference' would be the simple answer. Food wise, they were somewhat different. Hot House had Tamales and Enchiladas. Bull Pupp had Enchiladas too, but had Taco's and Burritos as well.
Bull Pupp sold some of the first Burrito's in town.
Bull Pupp was the longest surviving concession at Playland.
